Description

Captured 5/10/10, at beautiful Legg Lake in the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in not-so-beautiful South El Monte, California. Much better detail viewed full size. As you can see in the background, civilization has encroached upon this idyllic scene, but with all due respect to Charberry and Henry David Thoreau, I wasn't about to make a mess Photoshopping out the power lines and towers from this image. It is what it is, no more, no less. And I did bring along lunch in my camera bag. So long, thankx for the visit, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

I truly happy to see a singly photo again. Wonderful place you find Harry and captured so well. I don't mind the powerlines in there, part of our life as this idilic area.

What a beautiful place for a picnic! I am fine with power lines. Not much we can do about them. I try to incorporate them and call them "leading lines" now days. I also appreciate one photo at a time. :-)

Amazing scene, Harry. The power lines seem to add something to the shot.

It's a beautiful, quiet looking place Harry.. You are right.. First thing I thought was, blimey! You DO have allot of pylons there.. And NO! I would not try photo shopping them all out either! Its a shame really.. Allot here, have been put underground now.. Great shot though.. Rob

Yeah - it is a great pity those powerlines are "spoiling" the tranquility, but that is live I guess! Another super shot of this peaceful vista Harry!

Such a lovely spot; I tend not to notice the lines first, my eye is drawn to the water and surroundings, and only them do I see the encroachment of civilization. A wonderful shot, Harry!

It is a beautiful capture even with the powerlines, and after all powerlines are a fact of life these days. I love the super reflections you have got here and it was a super place to have lunch.
