Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Very good photo. Gives an idea of how cramped the cockpit is, and the machine guns fire between the rotating propeller blades (back to WW I technology) making for better aiming. Despite lighting glare, good info about the paint scheme and colors. Interesting with the sideways opening cockpit canopy - rasier to open? This is a good photo job. Were you on the wing or on a ladder to get this high angle view? Have any more photos of this plane? Thanks a lot! :)

That is one small cockpit Bill but a nice shot of it, well capture my friend!!

This is my way of looking at this picture of yours so I totaly ignore the background and I see a model plane with a such a fine details. Gotta love the painting what brings back good memories when I was building these little guys.

Superb capture and POV, Bill! Looks like a flyer too, given the trail of fluid out of the round inspection cover. Clive

Curses on you, Red Baron! (shakes fist)...I'm put in mind of Snoopy's flights on his doghouse roof. OK, what can I say, airplanes are not my thing. But this is a great shot!

Excellent capture! Thin pilots only. ;)

great shot!

Nice capture! With your f-stop at 20, you were able to get shots I can't get with my little job. REALLY well done! With that tripod, your camera is worth the weight!

Great image Hugs Susan~

Cool capture considering the adverse lighting conditions, Bill. From what I can see it looks like a relatively simple instrument panel. And good luck setting up a tripod with this challenging arrangement. Possibly a monopod would be more utilitarian.

Excellent shot (very). Interesting how they call it an E-3 but they put the primary identification feature of the E-4 on it, the angular canopy (much easier to fab). I guess they're calling it an E-3 because that's what the Swiss engine QEC (quick change engine/cowling assembly) was labeled for. (The airframe was originally a G-2 before handed over to Hispano). I like the streaking oil from the oil fill hatch. I'd like to be there for an engine run. I'm a serious 109 idiot ... I own a gas cap. :D

That's just cruel.....the temptation to jump in would be too much for me.I have a rare English copy of the pilots manual for the E-3. Explains the instruments, start up procedure, take off, flying, landing, gun / cannon operation and even the safest (?) way to land wheels up. (AKA 'crash'). Great picture Bill, looks like an Easter Front or late Home Defense paint scheme, any more of this beauty would be much appreciated.
