Description
Those who visited my image page yesterday, may (or may not), wonder why today's post isn't a Beach Wasp.
Short version! Went to beach; removed myself, plus Barney and son from car; walked to dunes, unpeeling banana; noticed 2 wonderful wasps jigging about; placed banana fairly close to the jigglers; tried to kneel close to wasps; fell into sand....as ya do! (should mention at this point, that the ol' knees don't work. Hence, once down, can't get up - ever! So still on beach! - Nah. Lies! ^=^) While sitting on sand, giggling - as ya do - Barney ate banana! Decided then that this was not going to be my kind of day, so No1 son helped me up (whilst fighting back tears of laughter) and we went down to the woods! So - no wasp. Sorry to Andrea, but I'll try again later today. ^=^
Instead, here is the bridge I considered jumping off after the wasp farce! ^=^ I decided instead to take a few pictures, and this is the result. The history of this viaduct is more extensive than can be written here, and it is well worth reading what is reported at the following link. ^=^

I will just say it is a remarkable feat of engineering, and an amazing place to view the surrounding area from, though at this moment there is great concern because it is in need of repair. I believe money was going to be forthcoming from certain quarters, until the recession hit. To offset further damage, the water channel has been disengaged, so at least that should help a little. I certainly hope so. It would be a tragedy indeed were this wonderful structure were to go the way of so much of our historical legacy.
Oh yes. It was also featured in Omen III, The final conflict. If I'd known that sooner, I might have watched the film. ^=^ Or not!
Right! Off to beach then.... I'll return later to play catchup!
Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

What a hilarious story! I do so hope that you weren't hurt, Carpathia! What a good thing you had your gorgeous boy with you.. This is a fantastic view, although I'm not certain I could look down from there. Cliffs don't bother me at all, but man-made things are another matter. Odd.

Yuo'd have to be 'off the rails' to jump down there Carpathia, even in your 'trainers'. Glad you didn't cos we wouldn't be able to read your hilarious accounts any more. This is a grand image.
