A very strange tale indeed...

Description

There are a thousands reasons why I am very pleased we (as a species), left the sea! 1: I can't swim as fast as a shark! 2: I'm smaller than an Orca (which is a dolphin actually, and not a whale!) 3: I don't possess a shell for protection and ... 4: I rather like my oxygen more on the dry side! This is #5! I think this little chap (or chapess), was once an oyster - or at least a clam of some sort. Then along came little burrowers in great numbers and decided, without a by your leave, to move in and take over! You go out for a well earned day out to visit relatives, decide to get a bit of a tan on the beach and go for a quick pint, and when you return from your foray, what do you find? Squatters! And just when you thought it was safe to go back to the sea too! Of course this does tend to have a knock on affect. One moves in, others follow. As have some Limpets, though mostly inside your residence! (they don't like the cold!) and now they sit there resembling mini volcanoes! But - the strangest thing you notice is what is growing on the right hand side of the front, way down the bottom. It is actually another creature, (or was) rather resembling a centipede. And not only that, but aforementioned centipede like creature is now fused so well with the shell that is looks to be fossilized! How can this be, you ask yourself! You suddenly realise that something very strange has occurred! Not just a day out with family and friends, you have actually passed through a time warp, evolved into a biped, and now carry a piece of equipment used for recording images........ I shall leave now. I think I need more medication..... ^=^ Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

Oh, Nature is fantastic! I love the violence and the mayhem that never seems violent or mayhem-ish...I think because it's so graceful. I love burrowers (when they're not burrowing through me) and yeah, I like my oxygen on the dry side too...but not too dry, mind you...I don't like burns. I'm not too keen on sharks either, mostly because they can't distinguish between me and a seal (not enough brain power) and so I'm just as likely to become dinner...ah, but sharks taste good themselves if you cook them right! As for this shot. WOW! WOW! WOW! I absolutely love it!
