Description
I put four together and as you can see by the last one, I am actually close to landing! lol. The first image is probably somewhere in New Jersey. It is darker than it was as I looked out of the window. I like the way the sky looks darker. The second one is McGuire AFB in New Jersey. When I joined the US Air Force in 1976, this was the base I visited, and was about 30 minutes from where I lived. The third image is Midland Beach, Staten Island, New York. It used to be called Woodland Beach and was the home of William Henry Vanderbilt, son of Cornelius Vanderbilt. At the time of W.H. Vanderbilt's death, he was the richest man in the world. (Wikipedia) The last image is Coney Island (at the top) and Verrazano-Narrows Bridge leading into Brooklyn, New York City. Coney Island is a peninsula, formerly an island and is also part of Brooklyn. It became a resort in the 1860s and was the site of a major amusement park, which declined after the middle of the 20th century. Since then there has been a lot of wrangling over and neglect of the area. It was named Coney Island because of the large populations of rabbits, and the English name "Conney Isle" is found on maps as early as 1690. (Wikipedia)

as i have never been in the states,(yet) maybe next year for our silver wedding,we intend to visit Las Vegas and renew our vows (lol),anyway beeing born in luxembourg surface +2580 square kilometers and being used to the european dimensions if i may say so,i think i will be in for a big surprise as in the united states all is very much bigger the distances and all that i mean. knowing only NY by what i read in books or what i see on CSINY,or other movies i am very pleased to see this collage.5++.

I love flights! I need to get on a plane and go somewhere. Trans-Atlantic flights are nice, but after a while they're boring even with GPS screens embedded in the seat in front of you...after a while all you see is ocean and a little dot showing where you are. It doesn't seem to move! Continental flights are much better! You have stuff like this to look at, and you've captured this perfectly! I love the wakes behind the boats, the urban clusters, the clouds, the shades of color all melding into one another and the base is spectacular...those big, whompin' planes look so little! I love these shots! They're inspiring!
