Description

It doesn't really make any sense, I guess. I'm not a comic book guy, but I'm pretty sure one of Superman's unspoken duties is to put out fires in the city when he spots them. He's just staring at this one and doing nothing for some reason. Superman's a dick sometimes. I really just wanted and excuse to put a guy in a skin tight leather suit. I made another today with Robin (who, I think we can all agree, is probably one of the gayest comic book characters out there...God bless his twinky little soul. He has always been my favorite) and it turned out alright. Maybe I'll post that one some other day. My heart's just not into this lately. The suit on this is just a procedural material. Does anyone out there know how to add a decal or emblem or tattoo onto a procedural material? I made a Robin logo in Photoshop, even made a transparency mask version as well, but I couldn't really figure out what nodes to use to just slap the logo on top of the leather procedural material without messing with the underlying leather material. I kind of figured it out with Robin, but then couldn't remember what I did when it came time to do this one with Superman. That's why his back is to the camera...couldn't get the logo to work on his chest. Slapped it on his cape in Photoshop afterwards. I think I plugged the logo picture into the alternate diffuse place, but I don't remember. Whatever I did, I couldn't reproduce it hours later when I sat down to do this one.

sometimes you've just got to let it burn. As far as the logo, there's a thread somewhere on how to do it with masking in the Material room. I don't know if I've ever been able to do it or not. Check the material Room Sticky in the Poser forum. Don't hold out -- show us your Robin!

You never need an excuse to put a guy in a leather suit. >_> He could be at the market. BOOM! Leather leotard...dropping the kids off at school. POW! leather cat suit. Dinner with the folks...well, you catch my drift. Great job on this one. ^^

Depends on what's on fire...this looks sort of Hopper-esque to me for some reason! As for the decal, I think it is Alternate Diffuse but you have to play with the value--it may be to get it to show that you have to have the AD set at one, and turn down the procedural Diffuse value..I haven't tried it. And like Puffle says, a leather suit goes anywhere;)
