Description

Silver tray, silver water pitcher, silver feet on the pitcher. Each surface picks up light, reflects color in its own way. Surface tarnish, angle of reflection, surrounding objects, make the pieces look quite different from each other. Postwork on this image was done as a whole ... I didn't create the color effects in Photoshop. While the original was a bit pale, the colors were there to begin with. .......... For those of you keeping track - We arrived safely home on Monday afternoon. It was a great trip, but I'm glad to be back! The weather was clear all the way from Kansas to the Cascades, but as soon as we got close to the top of Snoqualmie Pass it started to pour down rain. No snow, thank heavens ... we had an alternate route planned in the event of snow in the Cascades ... but it was definitely wet up there! All in all it was an uneventful trip, and I'll be busy getting travel pics together for your amusement.

Wonderful capture, beautiful array of textures and a shame that these fine pieces have been let go. Dana

Reminds me of some of Jan Groover's work, the reflective surfaces and close cropping. Lovely.

Love this image. The good news is that a wee bit of tender loving care and silver polish will bring all these pieces right back to a new appearance...I know...I've done it before:)

What really works about this is that you've captured the essential element of silver...the, shall-we-say, argentine quality of it. I love the various colors and textures and quite possibly, the various grades of it. Every element of this piece of work is perfectly seen and perfectly presented. I love this. Oh yeah, and just so you'll know, the Fred and Ginger building actually still has that name, as well as a fancy-schmancy French restaurant under that bramble-shaped bird's nest on top...it's way expensive. Anyway, this is a fantastic piece of work.

Really wonderful exploration of light, form and texture - all in one piece of art! Superb photo, Tara! Sounds like you had a great trip - glad you two are safe and sound at home! I'll bet that's one spectacular drive - even through Kansas! LOL! Hope to have the time to make that drive someday.

Very nice capture. I really like the subtle color range and the textures. You know what Dorothy says (Hint: There's no place like home). Glad to hear you had a fun and safe trip.
