I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

For the life of me, I can't imagine why you've attempted to suppress what you've described, particularly if this is a result of allowing things to simply flow. There are so many elements to savor in this image. But, I especially like the light trailing each ship, and how that particular light glows in contrast to the softer features and overall aura of the planetary body. And then, the aged texture on the hulls, and the sense of dimensionality. It's a beautiful piece, Michael. Happy weekend... :)

Wicked looking ships, Mike! I only saw a few episodes of B5, but these do kinda remind me of Vorlons. But they still have your own distictive touches. I like these a lot. Excellent work on all aspects of this!

Outsatnding creation. Splendid ships with excellent textures. Strange designs, but very credible as spaceships !

You're right, the materials are quite impressive, rusty and old-looking, well done! Maybe the capital ship lacks a bit of details, as I didn't notice he was bigger than the others before I read it. But nothing important. Bravo!

Yep...you got this down to a tee! I love these ships! Too bad they're not actually Nemaean, and I'm sure that there are a bunch of Nemaeans out there going Duh! How come we didn't think of that! We like spikes after all! And so there you have it, if you make Nemaeans green with envy (which takes some doing!) then you've done a great job, especially since Nemaeans exist ONLY in one particular science fictional universe over thataway. And so having said that, let me also add a heartfelt WOW! I really like what you're doing with ships. You've always had a knack for this sort of thing and your designs are always immensely satisfying and realistic, and I love the way you're keeping to that sense of realism while also exploring something a bit more...curvy. I really like this immensely...you're doing some marvelous stuff...and don't worry about something feeling vaguely "derivative". I can look at this and see YOU in it rather than influences from other SF universes; your aesthetic is distinctive and really compelling, and the meticulous care with which you create images (with backstories) is quite impressive. Yeah, this rocks! I like it a whole heck of a lot!

They actually give me a creepy-crawly feeling. I think that means its effective modeling. Heh!
