Description

An old detail and tweak of this one to show the new version of the female pilot uniforms. The colored stripes were changed to what seem to be canon Macross pilot colors (red=main character, light blue=top ace/best shot, yellow and green=secondary characters), which meant everyone's uniform changed. Removed the middle stripes on the lapels for now. Those seem to appear on male uniforms only. Not sure if I'm fond of it actually, and might just put them back. I'm going to have to make the torso of these outfits conforming, with sculpted details; I'm tired of fighting it. Probably should have smoothed the wrinkles, or triangulated the mesh. Looks like quads were used here instead.

i think it's looking great, too. your detail is excellent. and you cloth sim looks stellar. in terms of fighting the details, i completely empathize. i've been fighting a robe with queen's sleeves and cuffs for a bit. but since i rarely have series, i've come to realize that i can add things after the simulation if i want. that said, i was pretty impressed at how well mapped detail worked in general. i feel kind of stupid for underestimating it now that i'm researching Zbrush more and more. the light in this image feels like sun. and that wall came out incredibly. your skin is always excellently done. the change in camera angle and zoom worked very well. great work!

ZBrush FTW! I want to try to sculpt details on a conforming torso with ZBrush, and have the sleeves, dress, and lapel remain dynamic. I want to completely sculpt the details on the flight suits. That's gonna be interesting...
