Description
Captured 11/4/10, very early in the morning, about one-third of a mile from my aforementioned abode.
Better detail viewed full size.
This is the same panel of metal fencing that featured my original "Peeling paint and shadows," posted on 3/16/10, the difference being that there are now new tears and eruptions on its skin.
You should be able to conjure up all kinds of abstract objects in the shadows.
These pics were taken while Daylight Savings Time was in effect. After we were back on Standard Time I checked it out at the equivalent time in the AM and found it all in shadow, so I captured it just in the nick of time.
Auf wiedersehen, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

Most interesting and maybe worthy of some more fiddling like I did before.

I mentally turn most of them 90 degrees counterclockwise and see cityscapes and mountain ranges, though I do see Pinochio in the top one just as it is. Excellent shots! Great detail, textures, and shadows. I like the third one best. I like its shapes made by the peeling paint, and the shadows on both layers.

I find myself thinking of why this guy's paint is pealing while others see mountain ranges, cityscapes and puppets. Guess I better click back into the fully retired mode and enjoy the shadows instead of getting my paint scraper, wire brush and a step ladder:) Cool results my friend.

I can see all sorts of shapes in this peeling paint and the shadow. An excellent collage of all these excellent captures. My fingers are itching to get my paint scrapper out all the same.

it's funny how some viewers are dying to get their hands on a scraper, lol...I understand, but really these are marvelous closeups of a process that, when viewed in strictly visual terms, is quite beautiful. In geology, these kinds of formations would take ages; but in paint, it can happen in a season; and the closeups show just how complex these decays are. You seem to go from complex to simpler to complex image, throughout; and the last one is a metropolitan area of paint-peel, a very complex, full capture. But each of them has grace & beauty, and I love that you got some paint globs and lines between joins, etc, showing some of the other activity that paint has going on when one looks closely enough. Another example of finding the picture in front of your nose, and a good lesson to those who say 'there's not much to photograph here'. You find the picture right where you are, and that's real photographer stuff. Great shadows too.

I like the second one, to me it stand out above all the rest. Simple yet unique and just got to love the shadows it casts. Thanks Harry.
