Welcome to my homepage!
I am new to this whole homepage / website thing. I love photography but am a novice with that too! My brother and friend post on here regularly and I was curious so got on and really like what I see so I figured I would give it a try.
I really enjoy nature photography especially macrophotography. I usually use a 35 mm camera using slide or print film but have switched into the digital because it's great for the environment and it its much more flexible. The most beautiful things in life to me are the most simple and often overlooked.
I have always been the black sheep (non-artist) in a family of very talented artists. I would love to connect with other folks who are interested in nature photography.Â
Peace, KateÂ

Lovely shot, she is probably itching to get out there and play in the snow.

Mine stares out of the window for hours as well.

This is a fantastic shot. Her ears are so incredibly perked up, and whatever is out there, she looks really engaged with it. There are times when I wonder what goes through dog brains as they see something. It's clear that like cats, the have the ability to experience thought in some form or another...maybe nothing terribly sophisticated, but they do have something sparking through those brains between their ears, or in the cases of "lower animals" under their ears since their ears are mostly on top of their heads. I love the light in this and the washed out color of the light, mixed with the warmer color of Molly's coat. This is fantastic. It's funny how cats do the same thing, except they're small enough to actually sit on the windowsil, and if they are anything like Natasha was, they know how windows work, but lack the prehensile thumbs necessary to open the latches. Anyway, I'm rambling. This is a super shot.

Would Molly rather be in than out. Bet your lunch was scrummy :o)

Your dog is just one ear and vary inquisitive! Lovely shot.

This is a GREAT shot! Molly is such a sweetheart and I love how alert she looks here with her ears perked up. I can hear the occasional bark as well. I also like that you managed to get the picture at precisely the right instant and the blinding whiteness of the bright overcast and fiercely falling, blowing snow. The brightness seems to be a kind of void that only highlights the rest of the action in the picture and makes it look that much more snug and inviting. Hmmmmmmmm, tomato soup and grilled cheese? Sounds gooooooood! A wonderful, fun and compelling photo. Nice work.

I can tell, by the position of Molly's ears, that she sees something of interest. Wonderful capture of Molly. Dana

I know this look so well! SUCH intensity. Mandy has really short legs, so we put in a glass storm door so she can sit on the floor in front of it and get obsessed about whatever she sees. (She's too short to get up on the sofa under her own steam.) This is a wonderful shot of Molly. She's got beautiful ears!

the pose is beautiful, and the light is equally so. The black swallowing Molly is lush & reflective; and the bleached white light out the window is the perfect balance, met in between by those reflective blues (reflective inwardly, I don't mean glass reflections). That light highlights her fur beautifully. I hope you do more shots like these, you have a native feel for them. And it does evoke the sense of being 'inside' during a major storm. (I saw it out a high window in a high rise, and the pics I took were like buildings seen through a mist. Clarity is lost on blizzardy days, in a high rise. One never gets the clarity of tone & shadow you have here.) Beautiful shot. Glad you were in & safe, it was heavy-duty out there!

Adorable! A lovely, telling shot.

She is so intense in her survey. I suspect she might have caught a glimpse of Santa doing a test flight.
