Description

The past couple months I've had way too much free time on my hands and Minesweeper has become a minor obsession of mine. The image here is of a one-click game, resulting in a zero time score, something I've sought for years in the beginner level. The screenshot probably doesn't look like the Minesweeper you're used to because it's an open-source clone on my Linux computer, and it doesn't save high scores, so this screenshot is all the proof I have of the zero second game. Either way, when I finally found this I realized I had spent way too much time over the past few years playing this little game, and along the way I've developed little life lessons that can be learned from Minesweeper. I share a few of them here today: You can waste a lot of time 10 seconds at a time. You can't get through it all by guessing, but sometimes you just have to trust your instincts. Sometimes your best victories have no witnesses except yourself. Your useless talents still bring joy to yourself, even if nobody else cares. Don't brag about your useless talents unless you've mastered the Expert level. Aim for the gaps, the rest will fall into place. Faster is never more accurate (or as we say in the Army, "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast") Take some time to learn from your mistakes All you've gotta do is read the signs given to you.

Very interesting. Seems like you've had a Zen moment. My life this year has been opposite. Extremely busy but at the same time wasted. Customers are so frustrating. BTW my best time in Minesweeper is 7 seconds on Beginner mode....extremely busy but at the same time wasted. LOL.

''You can waste a lot of time 10 seconds at a time.'' (Experimental: Believe me, TallPockets does that ALL the time in HIS ramblings). SMILES ''Your useless talents still bring joy to yourself, even if nobody else cares.'' (Hey! I resemble that remark!). GRINS. ''Take some time to learn from your mistakes'' (THAT is WHY this old geezer is HOPIN' for an ETERNITY to exist!) WINK.

Anything that makes your brain and mind work is not wasted. I have no idea how this works, but you've obviously figured it out. Cool stuff!!

I learned how to master Mine Sweeper when I moved to NC. We could only get a very slow Dial up connection. So I had time to waste as pages loaded. But now I have high speed cable and I still play the darn game. I have never got a score like yours so I have to play it until I do,

Minesweeper! WOW! Minesweeper! So many lessons to learn from that, as you've pointed out and illuminated so well. It's been ages since I've played it and well...I still have memories of that game in an apartment in Rogers Park, Chicago, with a kitty litter box in need of changing and a friend watching Twelve Monkeys on VHS. WOW! Minesweeper!
