Description

Coming home 3 weeks ago from a Doctors appointment I decided to get off the highway and take some country roads home. As I turned a corner I spotted this gate but drove on by, it’s image in a matter of seconds had burned into my brain. If I don’t go back I’ll wish I had and it well drive me nuts when I get home, so I turned around and went back for a second look. As I set there I wondered when the last time this gate was past through. Judging by the way it was groan up in front and back I would guess it had been a very long time. I don’t remember whether there was a house behind the two big cedars or not, don't think I even looked, but I would guess this had been a thriving full of life corner, home, for some family of the past. I can see the children three I think or maybe four being let out of an old school bus, through the old gate they ran around the big cedars and through the back door of a white painted two bed room framed house. Grabbing milk and cookies from the table Mom had set out just before they got home and thou they did not say it often enough she knew they were grateful. She knew they loved her for all the small things she did for them and the kids tried to match her and Pops giving. Words like love and thank you were not used much here life was busy and hard not much time I guess for words, but love was never questioned never doubted. After the milk and cookies, with there faces wiped clean; almost as suddenly as they arrived they are out the back door to take care of the daily chores, as Pop says everybody works on the farm and they were all proud too do their part, most of the time. Just for a quick update on my knee, the Doc released me Tuesday to ease back into the norm again, unless something unforeseen comes up no more Doctor visits, Yea! Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you should care to leave. Thank You for the favs on my last post! Wishing for each one of my renderosity family an abundantly blessed and a very Merry Christmas!

Good you returned to that spot and took this fine photo. This wouldn't have conjured up any memories for me. All I would think of is why doesn't someone chop down those ugly tall weeds and put up a new fence and gate.

There is something very mystical about this image and could also be downright scary, I mean anything could be hiding in the tall grass e.g. snakes or whatever ? I think you were very brave to go back, but otherwise we wouldn't have seen this amazing pic. - thanks for sharing - it has lot's of appeal to me. It has old world charm ... BB

Even more rustic than first look because of all that dried grass in front of this gate. I'm very happy that you went back. Dana
