Description

This started out as a desire to make another possible wrapping paper, starting from scratch, but very very rapidly fell into my typical pattern of making yet another space scene. I guess it's what comes easiest for me. I was dabbling with another Flaming Pear plugin called "SolarCell" which seems to have some real promise. I was just tossing a collection of gold starbursts with the idea of making something glittery and gold for the holidays, and then well, THIS happened. Not that I'm unhappy with the results. Quite the opposite, in fact. This may very well be one of my best starscapes I've made. At any rate, this has about 4 layers of stars that are all overlapping, and another 10 or so layers of clouds for good measure. I hope you all have a great holidays, whichever ones you're celebrating, and thanks for taking a look.

Another incredible starscape from the master! Incredible work as always! This could be the Christmas star as it appears from among the stars. Beautiful!

Wow, yeah, great color mix! I especially like that bit of darker cloud in the upper right.

I'm not sure that it wouldn't make an interesting wrapping for a package. Stunning stellar view!

Now see, I'd love this as wrapping paper! But that's just me. As a starscape, it's brilliant. I love the cool blue tones, the whole reflection nebula vibe this has and the variously glittering stars. This is a really nice piece of work and it's quite inspiring. I wish I still had my copy of the soundtrack to Star Trek The Motion Picture...some good, classic Jerry Goldsmith would go quite well with this right now, especially anything invoking the vast blue cloud enshrouding V'ger as it makes it way into Federation space, "recording" everything in its path. WOW! I love that you stirred that particular memory. This is a great and evocative piece of work.

I'm with Chip ... this would make fabulous wrapping paper! I'd just sit and stare at the box if someone gave me something wrapped in this. Excellent work!
