Description
I woke up this morning and for some reason could not stop thinking about this story. I thought I’d post it so you could tell me what you think.

A young man, born and raised in a small town, decided to leave his home and seek his fortune. He found a job in a big city and moved into an apartment in a large building. It was a cozy place with a balcony that gave him a view of the city. One evening he was standing on the balcony and looking up at a cloudy sky. As he stretched out his arm to see if it was raining a glass eye fell into his hand. He looked up to see a pretty young women looking down from the balcony above.
“Is this your eye?” he asked.
“Yes.” said the woman.
“I’ll bring it up to you,” the young man replied.
He ran up the stairs and knocked on her door. She was even more beautiful in person. She thanked him and explained that she had lost her eye in a childhood accident and sometimes had trouble with the glass one.
“Would you like to come in for a drink?” she asked.
The young man didn’t really know anyone in the city and gladly accepted the invitation. They spent an hour in pleasant conversation over drinks. As he got up to go she said she had something cooking in the oven and would he like to stay for dinner. Again he gladly agreed. They spent the next several hours getting to know one another. She had been born and raised in the city and would be happy to show him around. He quickly grew to like her and could see she liked him as well.
He helped her clean up and, as he prepared to leave, she shyly asked if he would like to stay the night. He was pleased and flattered but had just one question.
“Do you do this with every man you meet?” he asked.
She smiled and said, “No.”
“Only those who catch my eye.”
Wishing all of you glad tidings and a joyous holiday

:-D Yeah, that's a great smile lifted up on my weary face .. one I will take with me happily as I tumble into bed. I had this sense you were taking us down a Rod Serling back alley and did not see the sweet twist which actually lay in wait. Nicely turned. Merry Christmas, Brother! I wish you what you most wish for yourself. & May these days bring you light and happiness. With warmth and friendship, Terry

Funny joke. This wouldn't be easily translated in French, as our phrase is "HIT the eye". Joyeux Noël.
