My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

This is a fantastic shot. The color variations and the textures show very well. I like the plants growing on some of the pilings. You can't keep nature down.

Wonderful panorama!!

Great POV, there's an awful lot of pilings there and some great colour.

Most interesting, and it makes me curious about what this looked like before..before what? Did they support a jetty or landing stage?

Ohhh, nice. I like the varied textures and colours, and the great panoramic view.

Zoom is a must! What a stunning image Dierbaar! I love the tide markings on the pilings and that some have some green growth on top! That is so cool!

Gorgeous shot Tara! I love the light, POV and color contrast. Very nice- it leads you into the shot, come explore me!

Amazing capture Tara! Some of the pilings look almost translucent, gorgeous colors! This reminds me again of time spent scouring the beaches, looking for glass floats, crabs, starfish, barnacles, polished rocks and lovely driftwood. Oh to be a child again, there is so much to discover in an area such as this. Thank you so much for your great comment on my new post! When I wrote this part it seemed to me to be a bit on the boring side but after reading the comments and then re-reading it again, its better than I thought, lol! Wishing you and Bill every happiness and many blessings for 2011 and virtual world will continue:-)

I love the patterns in this shot; the lines of the pilings and the weathering patterns on the pilings themselves...well done!

wow look like crystals...wonderful work you did here
Chipka
I love the POV...it kinda has the look of a city, or ancient ruins. The colors are fantastic, as well as the cropping. I love the way everything seems so organized, but not rigid. I agree with jocko too, there is a kind of crystalline look to this and it's marvelous. More top notch work and I just luv it!

Both the color and the pov are great--I remember these well!!

Wow someone else thought the same as I did...I thought they looked like crystals also...very cool shot

Zoom is impressive ! :)

There is a special mood to this place. It is repleat with history of a company and its' people. These multiple pilings spread out on such a large scale remind me of many things that must have happened here over the 143 year history of Port Gamble. Your postwork emphasizes and memorializes the hopes and dreams of generations that lived, worked and died here. Let's go back in the spring:)

wow, amazing! great composition and wonderful colors! great job!

Pretty fragging cool! Reminds me of what Lake Michigan might look like if they ever drained it. Although, I'm sure there would be less junk piled up in your body of water. I love scenes like this and this one is great!
