Description

I'm always fascinated by the ways people occupy space. And wonder why they prefer a place or shy away from it. Why one prefers sitting in the first row at a conference, why one chooses the very last bench in a row of lonely benches? The public garden nearby is a microcosm where every star, planet and satellite has a different orbit, which only rarely intersects the others. The garden isn't terribly large, and it's quite popular, but one can choose to be lonely in it. Thanks for your kind comments.

Sandra, this really is a beautiful scene you captured and as always you make us think through your art. You are right about how fun and fascinating it is to observe people and how they interact with their surroundings. What is considered lonely by some is to others an escape from the crowd, if even for a moment.

There is a HUGE difference, though, isn't there, between loneliness and solitude. I SO value the latter, but rarely feel lonely.

By the look of the snow he must be a 'drifter' looking for cold comfort!!! Well spotted and captured.

Just getting away from the crowd or no place else to go? It does make you wonder. A stark and beautiful picture with outstanding composition.
