Description

Dear Helle, I've been painting, but you won't care. LOL! Okay ... you'll care, but it isn't what you might have wanted to see! :P Lance moved out of the upstairs apartment three weeks ago, and we've done nothing but clean and paint and have contractors in and out in all that time. He lived there for 12 years (since before I bought the place) and it was time for a bit of a remodel, as the folks who owned it before me did only what was necessary. New carpet, vinyl flooring, tub and surround, toilet, hot water tank, baseboard heaters, dishwasher, countertop, and new plumbing in the walls. Oh. And paint, paint and more paint! All that's left to do is the countertop, and that's coming on the 17th. Bill did all the cleaning, took down the kitchen cupboard doors and put them back up again, replaced the hardware on the kitchen cabinets, installed the baseboard heaters, put up floor trim, hauled stuff up and down the stairs, helped Trent with the bathroom remodel, and did a million more things I'm sure I've forgotten already. He ran to the big-box hardware store with the orange aprons every ten minutes for this and that, and didn't complain when I needed a break, even if it was a whole day! I dealt with the contractors and painted. :D We both feel like we got the better end of the deal. Lance's sister Kim moves in tomorrow. (They switched houses. It's a long story. We're all happy, and we'll still be seeing Lance!) Hope you're not too disappointed that I painted with rollers and wall paint instead of a mouse and ArtRage! :P Hugs, Tara .......... Helle and I both take more photographs and do less 2-D art than we would like, so we both encourage each other to paint. LOL! Okay ... we poke and prod and support each other to paint. However you want to put it, we're a loving thorn in each other's side when it comes to non-photographic art. The whole time I was painting the apartment I kept thinking of telling Helle, "Well, my friend, I'm painting!" LOL! Now that the project is done, I REALLY hope to have the time to make some art!

OH WOW ! Now I understand why on earth I (for long time) havent seen an honest painting from you. ;-) Tara, I must say you got an excellent excuse in this beautiful result. Well it is not on canvas and it isnt digital painting, but this is fully acceptable HAHAHA ! It is a very nessesary kind of painting and I am so happy for you both, because I know how wonderful it is to get the house fixed..........when it is over and done with of course. LOL ! Congratulations....and Bill. You really did a great job. Because of that, I will post a digital creation again tomorrow. Theeenk yeee :-)

Hey, if Dali can paint a chapel ceiling sky blue, you can paint an apartment cream and white - AND call it art! Looks great.

Oh you've been painting all right! Good thing Bill kept moving or you might have painted him as well. :) The results are well worth the work. I have experience with these things and there is definately an art to getting it right. And now for a little while you can have the feeling of living in a new house.

Great work, except that it reminds me of how much I need to do the same thing to my kitchen/dining room and the bath rooms...soon, I say...but no one's listening.

Dang..... A really professional job, Tara! I'm very impressed, but not surprised - your talent seems to spill over into any 'genre' you tackle! Now, I'd REALLY be impressed if you managed to get that paint to stick on the walls with ArtRage! :-D BTW, we're planning to repaint our house this coming spring/summer....LOL!
