Description

This male Yellow Iguana was photographed along the bank of the Belize River near Bermudian Landing, Belize District. Near this male were two females, and in the adjacent tree was another male and two females. Females are not as colorful. Yellow Iguanas are tree dwellers and can reach a length of 1.5m (~5-ft). Yellow Iguanas are edible and are supposed to taste like chicken, hence the meat is called tree chicken. No one I asked had eaten them. This picture was taken on 3 December 2010. @blinkings. The shot was taken from the road about 50m away and I did try to take out a telephone wire. I guess I didn't do a very good job!

Oh look dinner in the tree.. Like the bumper sticker says "I love cat it tastes like chicken" can now say "I love iguana it tastes like chicken" Lol well captured.. BTW cant see where you edited out wire but hen I am blind lol..
