Description

Zion is Utah's first national park. Zion Canyon is surrounded by massive canyon walls that ascend toward a brilliant blue sky. To experience Zion, you need to walk among the towering cliffs, or challenge your courage on one of the hiking trails. These unique sandstone cliffs range in color from cream, to pink, to red. They could be described as sand castles crowning desert canyons. Opposite the Zion Lodge, is the Virgin river and a foot bridge that leads to the Emerald Pools hiking trail. Although the Virgin River looks like is carved out this canyon, actually glaciers and flash flooding did all the work. Although the bridge is nice, it is the valley itself that should catch your eye. Nice capture of a pretty place. That bridge reminds me a lot of one on the Kangamagus Highway here in NH...you can always get a great pic from the center of these bridges too! Even though there isn't a lot of flora in this area, it's got its own beauty.
