Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

As I've heard younger folk say with amazement over something: "WOW...this is frikkin' epic!" And so I'll say...WOW...this is frikkin' epic! The light and shadow contrast is superb, and I love your POV. The eye goes in two distinct directions, but there's interest everywhere in this shot. The sunset is a show stopper, but it's so well seen, so well placed in this composition, and I love the way my eye wanders down the corridor of pillars there. This is really super!

Off-the-charts superb composition, lighting and silhouetting in this fab capture, Marilyn! You're really good at this kind of looking-into-the-sun stuff.

I agree with Chip. It's where you were standing. Wow. Looking down the pier, looking out toward the sun, looking out over the beach ... it's amazing! The pilings break this up into so many different stories ... it really IS frikkin' epic!

The beach has aways got a sad side for me. On the hot days it is covered by every person under the sun, but then I go down on a winters day and there isn't a soul around. I often wonder if the beach laments to herself 'where have all my friends have gone'.

Time passes by fast when you are having fun. Nice capture. Aloha

It's a good thing there are witnesses to this event; it might not happen otherwise! Great capture!

As Garth Brooks says, "Ain't going home till the sun goes down". SMILES. SUPER shot/beachzz!
