Description
The city of his enemies is in ruins and burning. But most of his companions are also dead, and the great wealth said to be had here could not be found. So now he heads home...alone...empty handed...and very weary of war.
Larger size is better...zoom for detail!
Thanks for taking a look and for your comments! You time and words are most appreciated! It becomes harder and harder for me to find the time to compose and render images...sometimes I feel like that weary warrior! But I do love it, and will continue to try to get at least one a week in the galleries. Thanks for your continued support!
Thanks also for the many comments and favs on my previous image "In Deeply":

Nice one :) Has a lot of good detail. Nice colors and that cut on his arm looks pretty bad! He better get something on it or it might get infected! Ohh Gosh the poor horse even looks tired!

A magnificent creation, dear brother! I am so impressed with how you draped that cape over the side of the horse. This work takes a long time to create and I must give you a pat on the back for that patience. But it's worth it, all the wonderful details, the elements around the subject, the burning temple ruins, and how you created depth by blurring those dark smoke in the background. Needless to say, you have done it once again. A superbly done image!
