I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Oh these people you mention are such a bad influence to want you to move over THERE! The place gets snow piling up higher than our sand dunes! Just see how Greg plans to fake zoo lions for you. I hope you enjoy Carin, stay safe.

The weather of the Pacific coastal areas for the next couple months is better than most would expect. Sounds like your having a great time. ;) Lovely composition across to the Peninsula!

Superb, lovely and a full of mood captured image, dear Carin. Such great you've met all those friends, what a lovely time you must have. I'm curious if you will move to the USA! And then always will be sleepless? (LOL)

Those mountains loom so nicely, and the clouds behind them look as if they're the peaks of even more distant mountains. This shot has excellent layers in it...from nearby to far, far away...and all of it is so stunning. This is a marvel of mood photography to be sure and it's loaded with memories, which is the best thing! This is amazing!

Beautiful capture Carin. You obviously loved your stay in Seattle. It is beautiful - when the sun is shining. I was stationed there at Paine Field, just south of Everett between 1963 and 1966. When the weather is nice, it is fantastic, but over the course of three years the weather got me down. Too much drizzle, fog and/or rain. Many time we were watching a patch of blue coming in over the Straits of Juan de Fuca and were anticipating sunny skies, only to close in again before reaching us. What made things worse at the time, we didn't have much money to go, say east of the Cacades for some sun. You wouldn't be the first one to move up there - Bill likes and of course Tara, Sig..
