Description

The Heidelberg Castle, seen from behind. The "Pulverturm" (powder tower) of the castle has been destroyed by French soldiers in 1693 in the Palatine war of succession. Apparently, too much gun powder has been stored there. Please zoom for details. Thanks for looking.

No matter how many 3dtower I see, they can never compare with the real thing! Destroyed by French soldiers? I can not understand how they did it expect by gun powder of course. Barbarians! Some day I must go to Heidelberg.

A different view of this splendid castle above the river. Great capture. When we visited, our guide advised uo to go to Schwetzingham ( apologies for Spelling as I can't find it on my atlas) which was the summer residence of the rulers in Heidelburg. Wonderful garden and music festival. i just pass it on as this upload reminds me of great experiences in that area!
