Description

"The two travellers were in a little bit of a hurry. They had to be out of the forest and at their first, preliminary destination, the little village, before nightfall. On a tip from the forester they took a shortcut through a rarely used pathway. Riding through a small glade they spot a large bird taking off..."
The trees have changed from oaks to beeches. The forest is a little darker and hence the vegetation is still a little springlike.

I love that you are combining a little story with your stunning artwork. It always seemed perfectly suited for illustration. Fantastic scene, the lighting and vegetation is perfect.

It's the small touches that draw me back, time and again, to your work. the fallen, moss covered tree in the leaf-filtered light and cow-parsley growing up above the other foliage add a deeper aspect of realism. Excellent as always. Huw Carr.

your light, your trees, and your underbrush are absolutely phenomenal. the horse is less believable, but i'm not sure what can be done about that. i've been viewing lots of photos of horses lately, and the anisotropic highlights based on the direction of their coat are very important to their shading. the god rays are just beautiful, and i like the composition.
