Description

This image was originally posted in my gallery as Into The Light. It had banding issues where the image was darkest - problem with Poser. Rendered in PP2010 with GC turned off, IDL on, in two phases, foreground and background. Water is a shader by Bagginsbill. Sky is an image on a skydome, also by Bagginsbill. This image is a baseline image: it will be converted to corrected-sRGB, an alternative to gamma-correction, developed by Bagginsbill and much refined and re-worked by KobaltKween. The problem with conventional GC as offered by the Poser Pro renderer is how dark colours look: black doesn't really ever look black enough. Corrected sRGB fixes that. It will involve a fair bit of work to convert all materials to c-sRGB. This will be done by creating a Python/Matmatic script to address all the materials in a scene: they will almost all need to be reworked if any colours are involved. I'll try to keep you posted on my progress on creating those scripts for scenes: some of the innovations include using collections, and calling routines from external .py libraries. A gazzillion other projects still await completion before I can finally focus my attention on this. This is a very exciting concept that will no doubt find a bit of interest from the port-to-other-renderers crowd.

A very impressive step up from the already well presented original image. The scripts and render passes have introduced a beautiful 'old master' quality to both lighting and material texures. Looking forward to seeing how you next progress on this.
