Life in flux. So, I was looking with passionate interest for people who were interested in making realistic materials - called shaders - for Poser mesh. That interest had shifted to making dynamic cloth for Poser, but has since moved further afield: to Blender3D. And creating scenes in Poser for Cycles.
Exciting times!!
How can it be the best things in life are free? Blender 2.63a with Cycles is just the most amazing programme, evah! How can this be free? Well, what I'm typing in: Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu 12.04) is also free. Solid, stable, never any issues, finds new devices without me having to do anything... how can this be free?
These are exciting times indeed, and they don't cost money. They cost time and imagination and dedication and a desire to learn. And they are free.
Gotta love it!

~Beautiful light and atmosphere!~

The scene and atmosphere of this image reminded me of two things: she might be wondering whether to go up those stairs and worry of losing her balance with those high heels. If I were her, I won't take the risk. You did a perfectly well-lit work, it brings out sunshine to those who look at your image. So nicely captured, her stance, her waist twisted to the right. Just beautiful, Robyn!

i had the advantage of being able to see other versions of this image, so i can say you're really going interesting places with your work in general and this piece in particular. the pose, especially the hands, convey apprehension very eloquently. i actually think the bluer, more diffuse version works better. the contrast of the cool outer environment and warm hallway lighting works better. but if the hallway lighting is natural, it should probably be a bit weaker. i think the grain weakens the piece a bit, because it obscures the materials which seem very good. the skin looks very well done and soft. it's a little hard to tell whether the dress is satin or leather at this level of detail, though it actually works well as either. i especially like the newer version of the shoes, because you can see their details more clearly. i have the same instinctive reaction to them that pixeluna does, but that's because the pose and composition really bring them to my attention. making them easier to see was a good idea because they're so central. overall, a great composition, and a very successful foray into incorporating new technologies into your work. kudos!
