My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Great shot Tara.

Fabulous! A thing of beauty..well a beautiful photo of a thing, anyway.

Cool capture, Tara

I do not know why, but there is something comforting in this capture. Is it the warmth of tone? The pilots spot to fly by the seat of his pants? The craftsmanship? The polished care? Who knows... Clive

love the lines

I really like the color in this and the warm coppery/brassy tones...there is just something about the yellowish metals and this (with those ornate rivets) is just super. It's a bit otherworldly, a little bit of what George Lucas might have been after when he created those rather improbable pod racers! This is so much better than those and there's such warmth in this image. Yeah, I like this a lot.

Really caught a beautiful glow off this.

Wow, the wide-open cockpit, when you could really get a faceful of cloud up there...wonderful capture, with your usual brilliant touch of colour and lighting!

belle photo!

I love handmade with all its human warmth and imperfections. The crinkled collar around the cockpit with its hand done rivets is a perfect example. I also love the golden glow. First rate work.

Beautiful colouring in this excellent capture.

Absolutely riveting! Nice lighting and sepiatone effects in this pic of the old barnstormer. Looks like something out of an old Flash Gordon serial.

A superb composition, Dear Tara! I love the POV of this.. and makes me wonder, wanting to see more! :) What an incredible colour... I love the tone here! I must say, that the lighting is most perfect, and illuminates this structure beautifully! Always a treat!

Looks like something from Jules Verne, quite a contrast with Bills Mig.Far simpler days and relatively civilised flight..

Great light and composition. Brings a soapbox racer to mind. It is probably not too far off being primarily made of wood underneath the burnished metallic surface. Carpenters, draftsmen and mechanics built these early pioneers.

Lusious gold tone on this beauty, Tara! Another wonderful capture with a very steampunk feel to it! I'm lovin' it, and I don't mean McD's, either! Excellent!

Beautiful picture!!

HA ! First I thought about a golden shoe, but then... ok I saw what it was. A beautiful shot of a golden plane.

tight! cool

Love the pattern that the rivets are making and the crop is superb! Wonderful light too Hun!

wow---- i didn't know those planes were made of gold!!
faroutsider
This really brings home how flimsy the early planes were - imagine flying in a copper pot! Superb composition, as always.

Er,... NOT the cockpit of the MiG 29, I assume. But, also hand made. And of metal, not canvas on wood frame! Intersting. From what year? At least there's a wind shield. Nice, warm photo. Good going! :-)

It's unbelievable, that a few rivets like this, can actually hold this aircraft together and withstand the forces of wind and weather ... marvellous image, BB
