Description

On Sunday I go on my annual pilgrimage, joining 35 000 cyclists in the largest timed cycle race in the world, The Cape Argus Cycle Tour. So far the weather is looking good - no wind - and I'm looking forward to completing my 15th tour. The race takes in some of the most breathtaking scenery on the planet, starting in the city of Cape Town, making its way down the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula, crossing over to the Atlantic coast on the west and returning to the new soccer stadium constructed for the 2010 World Cup - 108 km (68 miles)... It's a great day out, and I'm really looking forward to it! This is another recycled image (sorry!), which appeared as an insert in one of my personal favourite images, Road To Nowhere. The cyclist also made an appearance in Training Ride, and is still not wearing a helmet (I always do...) Craig thumb_1908364.jpg Road To Nowhere thumb_1907737.jpg Training Ride thumb_2177197.jpg

Up until 1996 (when I was a tad younger) for 11 years in a row...I used to ride every year in the "Bike Across America"...though I never made the top 100 bicyclist it was for charity which to me was more important just to have finished it each year not worrying what place i came in...Ah the good ole' days..."Wife always thought my calves were sexy and muscular...lol.... Best of Luck to you on you Tour Ride!

Excellent image. Really like the back lighting and POV. The mountains remind me of a Japanese print. Nice movement blur on the wheels. Hope you have a great ride. I'm going to check out Cape Town on Google Earth.
