My corporeal form lives with my wonderful wife and six eccentric cats in beautiful Sedgefield, but my dreaming body is frequently elsewhere, exploring the fractal universe and marveling at nature's chaos. I love traveling to places that exist only as mathematical constructs on my computer and bringing back snapshots that sometimes remind me of the real world (whatever that means), sometimes of metamagical worlds we can visit only in our imaginations. I trained as a biologist and run a small company specialising in science publishing - writing, editing, illustrating and typesetting. For 3D world building I use Vue, Daz Studio and Poser, but I've also used Bryce since version 2 and done some work with Terragen, Carrara and Groboto. For technical illustration I use mainly Illustrator and Photoshop.
Thanks for visiting my little corner of Renderosity, and to everyone who has kindly commented on my images or added my works as a favourite, thank you for that too. Craig.

(my impressions...cos your pic makes a big impression...)You've created a very effecive dramatic atmosphere esp with the subtle face in the light rays - most effective and suprising and a bit subliminally disturbing! The effect is highened by the dark forest and restless waters which seem to hide everything - like the secrets of death and loss. May Mark find peace, with time, in his mourning!

Beautiful work - the light and dark.

I've always thought your Vue work had a combination of a great knowledge of nature mixed with a profoundly photographic sense, and with deep imagination & heart. This is profoundly photographic---in the way the light breaks through the trees, and how it understands the language of the lens & the way light consumes & transforms form. It's also true to nature---in the way the treetops are configured, and how the light plays against them in the background, and in the partially visible waters, just as we'd see them in real nature, being hidden in the shadows all around. And last, your imagination & heart---your father's face, from that beautiful portrait you posted when he passed, whispering in the mists & giving that empty boat its Presence, its Call to transformed ports. And it's all put together gently, with great silence & love. Thank you so much for thinking of me with this image, and I'm honored to have my father's passing linked with your father, given what we know of him and how much he meant to you. Besides, it's an honor to be honored by you, period, Craig. I didn't respond to anyone back then, but I felt bathed in transcendence and love, with this image. It meant the world to me; and I hope the memory of your father remains a quiet beacon wherever you go in your life. Much light to you, and thank you from the bottom of my heart. You grace this place with a lot of sight & love, and I hope it comes back to you many-fold; you deserve it...
