Description

For some reason, in the spring and the fall when the weather hovers slightly above freezing to nearly sweater-only temperatures, and the sun is shining, our high-speed internet becomes unreliable. On for a few minutes, off for a couple of hours. On for a half hour, off for another half hour, etc. Why their cables are so unstable in this temperature range but the power utilities have no trouble is totally beyond me. So, when internet when down due to yesterday's sunny spring-like weather I decided that I'd do something less frustrating: so of course that means balancing rocks like this. I'm kinda weird that way. So, here's another one from that array of rocks I did. The largest one is a couple of feel long, just to give you a size-guide. Thanks for taking a look!

Well, there's your internet problem right there: it's related to the gravity fluctuations that allow you to create impossible stacks of rocks.

Is not that a bit frustrating to see the most massive of the three stones balanced on a much smaller ?

I would think the mass to the left would pull it in that direction ... but no! It's magic, after all. :P

OK - now let's see you balance that big one on the pointy end! LOL! Last time that happened here, the technician told me the squirrels had been gnawing on the phone and cable TV cables. Not sure why they chew on electrical cables - doesn't sound too appetizing to me.... but then niether do acorns...

Excellent composition and capture: clarity is remarkable here.

I think geirla is on to something. You must live in a gravity-fluctuation hot spot. Your impossible looking creations are the only such rock sculptures I've ever seen.

Oooh, yeah I like this and I wonder if internet being down at a particular range of environmental conditions is an indication of internet traffic overloading things? Maybe not. At any rate, you spent your time well and I do agree that maybe there's a gravitational reason for internet woes...who knows what graviton flux might influence? But that's neither here nor there. What matters is that you did something like this: and when it actually gets warm enough for me to go gathering rocks, I'm going to try something like this as well...just to see. But in the meantime, I'll just look at stuff like this and enjoy it. It's quite a marvel and I love the idea of doing work that makes use of gravity, friction, and really heavy things in odd positions.
