Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. I'm enjoying seeing the world thru your post on Renderosity. Mahalo and Aloha....Errol

I love the way even the dog has his own bag to carry. I guess the rainfall level is high with those covers over their packs.

How wonderful, and I don't know if it was so bad they had to cut things short...to be rescued by helicopter would be a super adventure!

I love the ferns growing on the sides there at the little waterfall. I watched all three of the videos yesterday and noticed these ladies and the dogs. I'm so glad they were safe.

Engaging series Errol. Yes, my prayers to those effected by the Japanese earthquakes and tsunami.

Great shot! :)

The equipment carried by each hiker really makes this shot for me. Makes me wonder about the weight. Hopefully, although big...these are also relatively light. I did my "backpacking" in the army...now, I leave it to others:)

I was looking at your orange back pack'n ladie's shoes, check'n out the toes when my Wife spotted her padding on her heels - lol... I think better hiking shoes are warranted - lol.... I saw the vido, I like that barkless tree at the end.... at the begining of your tape, you start to pan to the left, there is a cool tree there and then you quickly scan back to the right - not shoot tex - lol

@mikeerson.... I had asked them about those shoe wear, and they said they rather use those type of foot wear especially crossing thru the rivers and they were OK climbing up the donkey trail too. That lady in Pink, her shoes/footwear cost $100...I could argue with them on the lava fields but this is their teritory and has been doing it for over 20 years. They are much more experience than most people that hike on this trail. Aloha

All in all a shot with a lot of story~ =) Good one to post! Also love the dog with it's own pack, these ladies are smart and have things thought out. I'm so glad the authorities had the foresight to rescue before any injury could occur.
