Description
Population 55 (in the 2000 census), located in the "panhandle" of Oklahoma approximately 3 miles east of the New Mexico border and 6 miles south of the Colorado border.
I had the opportunity to go to Denver, Colorado (thanks to my girl, Lori) and thought I would check out the highest point in Oklahoma on the way... well, the trip to Denver normally takes about 12 hours to drive and I was adding to that by stopping to take pictures so I didn't take the time to make the over 8 mile round trip hike to the top of Black Mesa. Maybe next time.
(the high point in Oklahoma, by the way, is 4,973 ft.)
Thanks for looking and any comments or critiques you'd like to make are certainly appreciated!

I know that stretch of road! Did you stop at the Mercantile? Cool fossils and awesome hamburgers there.

lol My initial thought as the pic came up is "Panhandle!" and sure enough your text confirmed it. =D Ok, it may be the highest spot but my fav, Mt.Scott would have been somewhen before old age wore it down. Great image~
