Description

Why there were no photos of the release! Grand Cayman Island, in the Caribbean, seems to exist due to the result of years of volcanic action. There were 5 couples and we rented a driver and a 10 passenger van for the day. The driver took one of the ten seats. The rescued green sea turtle in yesterdays posting was maybe 200 to 230 pounds. Five older guys, one large souvenir blanket and the above volcanic coastline. There was a lot of complaining, torn sneakers, scratched up legs and arms plus 5 very wet guys. The van driver was not happy that the turtle was in his van. The turtle was not happy that he/she was in the van and went crazy when the van took the first sharp turn, in a moving van. What you see was the closest salt water. The wives would not leave the van because they were convinced that the driver would leave us there. Nobody was thinking about cameras at the time. I will admit that, back on the ship, hot showers and a couple of margaritas later, there was a lot of laughing about the adventure. Next time, maybe a smaller turtle. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Wow, a reef of volcanic rock is right, in this cool photo, Dana. I hope the wives later apologized for their wacky idea of buying the gargantuan sea turtle in the first place, placing everyone involved in an untenable position. I hope the margaritas made up for it.

You were very brave to get along this part of the beach with your heavy load. A pricey day out but a wonderful gesture.

This reminds me of Blowing Rocks, Jupiter Island, FL. Very sharp rocks but not volcanic. -Thanks for the hilarious story!
