Description
This is the image I created for the Easter Egg contest. It sort of looks like an Easter Holiday card to me, so I decided to post it here as well.
I created the egg design elements using Photoshop, and created the final look using various Carrara shading properties and mixers (masks for the mixing were also created in Photoshop). There are 8 texture maps used for the egg shader (plus the Veloute 2D Random map for bump). I enjoyed using Carrara for manipulating the design elements, instead of just painting a picture in Photoshop and sticking it onto a 3D egg.
All other elements were frankensteined and retextured from some of the content I have. I slightly modified the entry before posting it here to replace the starfish with a better shaded one and add another shell in the back.
Entry inspiration: "Since easter eggs are all about spring and resurrection and hope and rebirth, I thought of a place that needs all of those right now -- Japan. I designed the painted egg texture with the Japanese spring theme and rendered the eggs on a peaceful beach, hoping that Japanese beaches will be peaceful from now on."
Comments and critique are very welcome, as always. Thank you!

Great concept Antaran but a coplue of things niggle me. The hard edges around the easter eggs and the sharp angular bends in the grass blades. Bit of subdividing the mesh or smoothing out those areas. Still a great image and great textures.

this image is a must at full-size view. It is beautiful and you are very much on target. I like the color palette also.
