I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

Very cool scene You could call the first image an artist's concept of the completed station

Excellent! The assemblers are a great touch! But are there no nice shiny livable planets in your universe?

Great modelling and overall scene...like the colour scheme and textures!

Ah, there we go, now I get it all! Great job or revisiting this and picking out what was needed to make your point better understood.

I did like the 1st scene very much, but I did look for the station under consruction. Adjusting the colors of the planet did make it stand out better. Keep those post coming.

Fantastic composition superb sc fi scene !!

Very nice compo and ships, that indeed uses your station in a very lively way ! Just a small remark, a first I thought the towed parts were part of the towing ships themselves. Making them stand out more would clearly tell they are not. Maybe adding a 3rd part near the station, with no towing ship but a cloud of small workbees, could also be a possible path to help distinguish them. But this could easily crowd too much the pic. However, it's a wonderful pic in itself ^-^ Keep on giving us great insights into your future universe ! We want more !

Nice work! I'd say the same things that Mutos... but I like this pic!

Yep - there's my room... The module being towed by the tug at the top... Second unit from the right. Hope they remembered my recliner, and I hope the galactic-internet speeds are decent way out here.... Another EXCELLENT piece, Mike! This is a great addition to your last post, and it really does give it that "still being constructed" feel with the additional modules heading for the station. Just perfect! They do have coffee on that station, don't they?? :-D

Those space tugs are among the coolest of the cool that you've created thus far.

EXCELLENT!

I like this quite a lot and I get the impression of a Jerry Goldsmith score playing in the background, similarly to the manner in which such music (by that composer) played during the Star Trek: The Motion Picture as we saw the Enterprise receiving the finishing touches of its refit. This has a greater sense of scale than that: Star Trek has always been somewhat vague in terms of scale and location. I particularly like the tow-ships in this scene and the station components moving into place! This adds a marvelous human element to the image, though there are no humans to be seen. Ah, but they're implied and that's what adds such wonder to this shot. Marvelous!
