Cross it at your own peril - LOL he seems to have had a few failed starts, with his brush ... but what a way to go Nikolay, a Masterstroke ! BB *** The 1962 novel by James Jones, was also a WWII term: 'for a thinly spread military unit, holding firm against attack' in the movie of the same name ! I am sure not everybody is familiar with this - but isn't Google wonderful ?
