Description

Another corner from Graz. It looks like a medieval palimpsest, A manuscript made of papyrus or parchment, that has been written on more than once, with the earlier writing incompletely erased and often legible. Has someone 'written' the pin-up hugging her teddy bear and a black and white dog is threatening her with his leash, cut by the turquoise squirrel'scissors? I don't know whether the squirrel, painted on a light blue fish-like monster, belongs to the pin-up's story or not, whether he's saving her or he's simply taking a petty revenge on the dog. I can't say whether the squirrel is the tag of the same writer who 'wrote' the pin-up and the dog as well as the fine soldier in Corner No.1, which looks begging him. What's sure is that soemone glued a notice saying 'I hate the turquoise squirrel' over his head. Thanks for your kind comments.

Fantastic photo Sandra and a very nice addition to this series. Love the way people have added to this over time, despite the reservations someone had about that turquoise squirrel ;)

Is that what this means? "I hate the turquoise squirrel?" In America, they would start a gang war over what dolor scarf the squirrel was wearing, "...is ya a crips or a bloods mo-fo-wer?"

Nice graffity for sure and your interpretation is interesting. If it was the same writer, why did he change the color he used? And if was notthe same writter , what was the intention of the second writer? The technic looks the same for me, I bet it is the same writer

What a find! I love graffiti for just this reason, it's such a mix and match of everything, including declarations in regard to the hatred of turquoise squirrels. I love the textures and juxtapositions and the way in which this whole image reminds me of a complex conversation, among other things. It's all free-form, free-association, but there's a narrative here, a biography of the corner, so to speak, and well...what's not to like about that. I love the angle of this photograph as well, and all of the marvelous details and colors you bring out of this piece. Superb work!
