My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.

Beautiful photo, Tara! I just love lighthouses... Hope you do model this in Blender. I have blender, and I remember us talking about it a bit when you and Bill were here. I just can't seem to get my head wrapped around Blender - of course that's mostly due to being so @#%@%&^$ busy... I haven't had the time to learn much about Bryce, either - or Apophysis, or Mandelbulb, or Incendia, or Art Rage, or............ Maybe someday (sigh) Seems to be a common malady.

Ha! Caught you with your hand in the light house "cookie jar" again! Intersting how these buildings all have the same function but can look so different. Nice photo here, showing both the changes from age and preservation. Hmmm.... will there be more from this preservation work? :-)

I'm glad they are restoring this lovely old building Tara. Great shot.

We'll have to plan a "Restoration Update Tour" for about two years from now to revisit the two lighthouses we know are in line for a "make-over". That would be this lighthouse near Bandon, OR and the Haceta Head Lighthouse, north of Florence, OR. Both of these places are a little far from home for more frequent reviews:-( Oh, yes, and of course I like your presentation of the "before" tower here very much:)

Interesting building! Excellent shot! :)

At the moment it looks like a warden's lookout at a prison... I am sure they will manage a restoration worth a photo-holiday! Clive

Excellent shot Tara! SO you thought you would have more time, when you got retired? THINK AGAIN LADY :-D

I didn't know they are restoring this but I'm glad to see that it is getting a face lift. We will be down that way in about a month so I will take a picture for you and you can compare the two to see if they made any progress. My husband lived in Bandon when he was in junior high and high school so we are enjoying your photos from that area.

Superb to see this, thanks.

Did not know of it's restoration, look forward to more!

You know about the lens at the fairgrounds near me--I hope someone comes along soon to restore its housing. Otherwise, it'll just rot away, a terrible loss. I'm sure you'll get to the "after" shot!!

Very beautiful shot Tara or when the time has made its work....Congratulations

The rust and the bird splatters are amazing, as is the overall composition. Really amazing work, as always. I love seeing only a small portion of the lighthouse rather than the whole thing, but then portions are always more interesting. This is marvelous.
