UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Heavy but tender... beautiful view!

You have a fine one here...showing the strength of the bridge, built of pieces adding up. Next, we need a view from the top...again, nice Archi shot, deep depth of field showing all well.

I wonder who is checking on all the screws every now and then ? ;-D A fantastic shot :)

Fantastic shot Bill and a great POV.

I can only imagine the squeaks and groans of the metal because of the passing traffic. A childhood Meccano dream! Clive

You got all the angles covered here! Shades of the Erector Set of my childhood. Stellar POV, POV, clarity and detail in this pic of the geometric structure, Bill.

Where were you standing when you took this??..great shot Bill, wonder how many people have crossed the bridge and never given a thought for whats holding them up..This is about as close as I'd want to get, and as for joining traffic out on the span...I think not :-(

What a great shot of the underside of the bridge! I'm glad we decided to go home that way. Such a fun place! Reading comments, above, I see this image from a new perspective. Indeed, it doesn't LOOK like you were standing in perfect safety on solid ground! The horror story is up on the bridge deck. Crawling out on the girders isn't even on the radar!

I can remember some of the bridges from up that way and at the time not wanting to look down much... lol great work on this.

Now that's a bridge that's begging for me to cross it, on foot (with traffic at my backside) just so I can do that gypsy thing midway across, and then take pictures of what must be an amazing view. I love that strut-work. It looks kinda spider-web-ish. I watched a mama spider spinning an egg-case and lemme tell ya, a whole lotta strut-work and girder support comes out of a mama-spider's backside; it was an amazing (complicated) thing to see, but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures. This kinda reminds me of that, so now I wonder if there are some pearly yellowish-white eggs somewhere just out of frame. Okay, and now that I've gone on and on about a spider's backside and the business that comes out of it, I have to say that this is one of those nicely engaging shots. It actually took me a moment to orient myself and find the direction; that's not so important, but it was a fun challenge. Those struts are amazing and the angles are truly gravity defying. I'd say this rocks, but that might not be too good a thing for a bridge, unless it's one of those flimsy rope and wood things. Anyway, I love this shot.

I know what you mean.even stopping on the long overpasses here, the movement of the bridges can said to emulate an earthquake from semi-trucks I love the structure as it brings back memories of doing drafting for cross country high voltage towers

A great shot. I never could walk out on this bridge either. Too scary for me.
