UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

What a fascinating read Bill. I have a DVD on the Bell lighthouse which I love.

Beautiful work - it looks like a beautiful painting. Thanks for the link to the article. I recall reading about the Tillamook light house in the late 1950s in a (school?) book. It waas impressive reading, BUT, the photo of the huge wave dwarfing the light house and rock it's on is the most telling. One understands the power, wrenching rocks free and hurling them through iron roof and anything else. And, this is fiercer than a tsunami. But your image, oh, so (deceptively) peaceful. :-)

Cool striated effects in this fine beach shot, Bill. Perfect birthday milieu for Andrea, although she also dwells in dark forests, heaths and nursing homes at times.

I would have never thought, that blues and browns can live so happily next to each other - and look so damn' good, like in your panorama capture - perfect dedi for Andrea - well done Bill, BB PS just read the 'T' lighthouse story - makes good reading ... thank you !

This is really frikkin' amazing! I love the whole vibe of this shot/painting. My eye keeps tracing along the horizon and pausing at those two smaller upthrusts of rock! I keep wondering what's there, what stories lurk around those tongues of granite or whatever they are up in the Pacific Northwest, maybe granite...or maybe something exotic. Anyway, I keep going there and I love the little visual trip. This is really super and it's a perfect birthday gift; I love it when I see a gift that isn't even mine and I can still get excited by it. This is really amazing.

how sweet cool and wonderful warm hugs, Linda

Nicely done! The canvas texture really sets off the hues of this image. Ocean waves and beaches are such classic subjects for an oil. This turned out great!
