UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Super collage of the top of the bridge Bill. It looks like it continues round the bend to the right or maybe another bridge.. Nice captures!!

WOOW! What a HUGE bridge. Not sure I would like to be on top of that :-// WOnderful views though... and excellent shots too.

So, you did manage to gather the courage to dare the traffic on the bridge for SEVERAL fine photos. Good work, even if you didn't walk the length of it! Actually, the photos of its underside girder work are more nerve-wracking than the photos from the top - you look suspended in mid-air in those photos! The two upper photos suggest the bridge is either curved, or in two sections with the middle resting on an outcroping of some sort. A well made series of photos and well made collage (which is an art in itself!) Keep up the good work! :-)

A great set of pics Bill, must be brilliant views from there.

What creeped me out walking along the bridge was the way it vibrated when those cars and trucks went whizzing by!! Also very cool was when a couple of Navy jets went blasting overhead--that was amazing!!

Lovely collage Bill, I wouldn't mind crossing the bridge if the barrier was stronger :o)

Ah yes, the 1954 movie, The High and the Mighty, starring John Wayne, Claire Trevor, Robert Stack, and a whole host of other actors. Stellar montage of the daunting bridge and environs, Bill. And, no one ever said that the life of the serious photographer was without risk.

wonderful collage

What.... No bungee-jumping, Bill? C'mon, where's your sense of adventure? LOL! Yeah, that little barrier cable doen't exactly give one a sense of security. I'd hate to have the choice of getting nailed at 60 mph, or jumping.... Can't end well either way! Super photos of this bridge, my friend!

not much lol. i still would not walk it
Chipka
I want to go there, and I'm just crazy enough to want to walk it and yeah, maybe bunjee jump...well, okay, maybe not: it might be illegal. Anyway, enough of that. You give a great sense of scale here, and the more I look at these shots, the more "flexible" the whole thing looks. I'm sure the vibrations of traffic passing must be impressive, and I wonder what a good wind will do. It doesn't have to be a strong one, just consistent, I wonder if it sets up a kind of aeolian harp effect...now that would be cool! I love these shots and your POV in each one really showcases the mighty-highness of this span. Marvelous!

Splendid collage!!

Awesome Collage!! Great perspective of this bridge.

Standing on that 36-inch-wide sidewalk with a 40-foot long tractor-trailer whizzing by a mere 15 inches away is NOT for the fainthearted! Nevertheless, it's a way cool place to visit. I just won't walk out there very far!
