Description

Roofing the mid-section 2 2011-06-15, 8:15 As I promised yesterday, here's the panorama of the work on the mid-section as seen from the gap in the plywood wall (marked by red arrows on yesterday's post). This view is towards the west and the back of the Triangle shopping center. The panorama is taken at 8:15 in the morning. I have not been able to join the two photos perfectly since they are taken from two vantage points, due to large concrete wall elements being in my way. Yesterday's post gave an impression of very short distances. Today's post shows how long the mid-section actually is. To the far left is the recently poured concrete of the south section. Reinforcing irons are protruding from the concrete. In the center is the beginning of the work with constructing the reinforcing iron mesh. To the right is a nearly completed iron mesh portion of the mid-section. The thickness of the mesh is clearly seen - approximately one meter here. This is to be filled with concrete. To the right, behind the black wall, is the end of the completed north section. I don't have a construction time table for this, but I've heard 2 - 3 years construction time. This tunnel job has taken since early November 2010. Tomorrow I'll post a photo of the work along the east side of the Triangle shopping center. Enjoy!

It is really a great achievement, what little people can do anything with such a large machine! Very interesting to watch this process! Wonderful shot!

Colorful materials being used here. Good update... I see the mismatch but not bad for needing to take this around an obstacle.
