Description

taken from a rubberboat at Kriopigi, Chalikidiki, Greece ... Casio EX-Z750 Cotylorhiza tuberculata is a species of jellyfish, also known as the Mediterranean jelly or fried egg jellyfish. It is commonly found in the Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea and Adriatic Sea. It can reach 35 cm in diameter. It seems that this jellyfish's sting has very little or no effect on humans. Wow! That's a good size jellyfish! Being American., I'm metric challenged BUT I looked it up on my trusty Metric converter! We have infestations occasionally at the shore of much smaller ones that have a nasty sting and the beach is full of crying children who have gotten stung. Nice shot!

Superb color and clarity! I love the image. The subject (to my eye) could be a bit more to the right, with perhaps more of a letterbox crop. Something a bit more dynamic. (Crop off the top and the right-hand side, in other words, to move the subject more off center.) Of course that's only my artistic opinion, and I'm known for cropping off WAY more than most people would! LOL! So you take my advice, and do as you darn well please.

Excellent capture with superb clarity. A very unusual "fried egg". I don't think it would go very well on toast.
