Description
The great thing about being out on the road is the possibility of meeting the unexpected. When I saw the red kite floating above the rice paddies I just had to stop. Where there is a kite there must be a kite flyer. Not to worry. Almost immediately I heard from behind me the traditional Indonesian greeting, “Haay meester, where you go?”
The kids were friendly and lively but were like puppies. It was impossible to get them to stand still even for a portrait, hence the less than stellar quality.

Great shot of the kids! Their energy fairly jumps off the screen. I love the top image. There is wonderful contrast between the soft flowing aspect of the fields and the bright angular kite. It works so well because the lines are so clean and simple. It is an open scene without clutter, and quite beautiful. I see calmness and serenity, with a pinch of fun. I like this a lot!
