Description

To another Birthday-girl - Many Happy Returns Lynell - enjoy your day @ the cabin, surrounded by friends and family ... *** I like to share with you a native from our 'Down Under' Country and my garden - a Grevillea banksii 'Coconut Ice', which attracts little Honeyeaters, Rainbow-Lorikeets or Rosellas and lots of bees ... The top pic (stamens curled up) & the bottom pic (stamens unfurled) they are the enlargements of the vase in the centre pic - as if you didn't know already ? ;-) Cheers *BB* aka Brigitte

FABULOUS, Brigitte! However I had to get rid of my Grevillia, a common red one, as every time I went near it I came out in a rash, which took hours to go down even with anti-histamine. AH! the joys of old age! PAH! A very happy birthday to Lynell!

All I have to say is that someone must have had a lot of patience in neatly tying all those white cables around the branch, Brigette. Or are those shoe laces? And the stamens in the bottom pic look they are lost with no place to go. Otherwise, fantastic fotos of the strange plant. In any event, a stellar dedication collage to our mutual friend, Lynell, on her born-on-the-Fourth-of-July birthday commemmoration. It seems all I ever dedicate to her are images of old rusty Chevrolets.

We have a street with that name here but I've never seen the plant. Beautiful and unusual. The top image looks like a collection of rubber bands. A lovely gift for Lynell.

That is definately one of the most interesting flower/plant species I have ever seen! Such an incredible diversity of wildlife, flora and fauna in your neck of the woods!

Beautiful images and lovely birthday dedication! The blossom in the top image reminds me of those big telephone switchboards with a lot of people connected and talking. On the bottom one, it looks like the operator has left everyone hanging. "Hello, hello? I'm trying to connect with room 23." Great captures of this very curious and interesting plant. I love the light and composition of the second image with the top branches so brilliantly lit and the branches in shadow with pretty blue tones. The lower branches are beautiful shapes. I like the perspective added with the bowl.
