Description

May 29, 2011 'twas a beautiful short-sleeve day in the valley when we left the hotel... then boom it snowed like crazy! Needless to say we weren't very prepared for it (well Lori wasn't, LOL) I had my insulated overalls in the back of the truck :) and we bought her a jacket in the market at the visitor center. Actually we were happy with the snow as I'm sure it kept some fair-weather people away, hee hee. Thanks for stoppin' for a look y'all! Manning

This looks incredibly inviting and vaguely vertiginous...the walkway seems intriguingly angled and it's a part of a really marvelous landscape. I love early snow, first snow, any snow that hasn't been around long enough to turn into gray slush with gum wrappers and city (or town) gunk in it...and this scene is sheer magic. I love the crispness of it, the clarity and the distinct You-are-there" POV. Really fantastic work.
