This is the main floor hallway at the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse. Yaquina Bay was one of only a handful of lighthouses where the light was part of the lighthouse keeper's residence. Stand here in the hallway with me. Behind you is the front door. Directly to your right is the living room. To your left is the staircase, and farther to your left is the dining room. Walk straight down the hallway. The first opening to your left, under the stairs, leads to the kitchen. If you continue down the hall and curve around to the right, you will find the oil room. Up one flight of stairs are four bedrooms, and up another flight of spiral stairs is the light. The Yaquina Bay Light was originally lit in 1871, and decommissioned only three years later when the Yaquina Head Lighthouse was finished, but that's another story for another time.
