My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

An arcane title, Tara! I do like the centipede-like train with the inscrutable face and the telephoto compression. Very atmospheric.

Dans le vide du paysage, je me demande pourquoi il tourne aussi serré. Belle prise de vue.

Those desert trains are sooooooo long, and with the flat landscape you can see all of their massive length...there's a little town called Rice in the middle of the desert that is basically a tiny depot and train crossing with a signal...nothing else for MILES. It used to be a beacon for us on our long 5-hour drives from Long Beach to Lake Havasu every summer when I was a kid. What a great capture, and thanks for the reminder!

I love those trains. Once, I've seen one in Arizona with 200 wagons.

This is a great train shot, Tara! I can almost see the heat ripples moving in this capture! I love the effect of the bright BNSF engine, and the almost black tankers - it's like some giant snake making its way through the desert.

A super capture, this train looks like a giant caterpiller.
