Description

Known as Nethuns by the Etruscans, Poseidon by the Greeks and Neptune by the Romans, the God of the Sea controls the waves. Here on the Oregon coast, I think maybe his name is Brandon. Justin. Trevor. You know ... something like that. By whatever name, here he is, calling up the waves. Lucky me, to photograph him in his natural element, huh? :P This is near the Coquille lighthouse, just north of Bandon, Oregon.

I hate to tell him but he doesn't stand a hope in hell of controlling the sea.

Or maybe it's King Cnut. What a wonderful shot! Lucky you, or did you bribe him?

What a shot! WOW! You don't see stuff like this along the shores of Lake Michigan; I'd like Chicago more if you could see stuff like this! Your eye and your timing are perfect and I wonder what this guy's name is, and if he's controlling the waves, or is just letting them control him...at any rate, it's a compelling and cool shot.

WOW! This is a marvellous shot Tara. So beautiful to see the splash of the waves against the rocks and this happy guy, Hubert enjoying life. :-) Perfect.

Well, whoever that dude is, one big wave and he is over the side of that breakwater.. and in serious trouble... But a well caught shot of a slightly unwise man! lol Rob

It's definitely Justin--I saw him here once as he was trying the same thing. Didn't work so well that time; he got very wet. Oh, but I guess the god of the sea doesn't care about that. Silly me, I thought it was just some kid not using his outside brains!! Great shot!!

I remember this guy. Great timing here! Worse yet...Brandon, Justin or Trevor was beckoning for his girl friend, Destiny, Serenity or Brianna:), ...to come out and join him in his walk among the waves. And she did!!! I remember the age when I thought I was immortal too. lol

A wonderful capture and the wave is just at its best. I'm chuckling over him thinking he can stop or start a wave.

Hmmmmm - Maybe his name is Harry...... or Yoda... I tried that once - had my eyes closed and everything. I thought my spell was working, but when I opened my eyes all I saw was a bunch of people laughing at me. I shoulda paid more attention in Snape's class.... :-D An excellent capture, Tara! I love the humor in this as well as the action. Brought a smile to my face for sure!
